In 1949 Richard "Pop" White started White's Wrecker Service. His son and grandchildren were raised in this business. In 2006, Mr. White retired and left his business in the hands of his son and grandchildren. White's Wrecker Service started the program that gives free tows home to people that have had too much to drink back in 1982. It is recently known as "Tow to Go" and AAA sponsors this throughout the United States. White's Wrecker Service also continues this tradition every year.
White's Wrecker Service is known for being the company to take the lead on introducing new types of equipment into the local industry. They had the first hydraulic tow truck, flatbed, self-loading tow truck, heavy wrecker, and rotators in the Florida Panhandle. White's Wrecker Service has always been known for being the towing company that starts the movement for other towing companies to "get with the times".
